We are a quickly growing club in the Central Valley of California. We are a family oriented club interested in the continued success and love of all Volkswagen's and the VW lifestyle. We travel to many events around the state and even make it to shows in Nevada. All that have an interest in the Deutschlander's are welcomed to join. Club meets are monthly and everyone is welcomed to stop by.For those wanting to join our club, the first year is $20, and the renewal dues are $10 (due each April). Please check out our By-Laws, which will let you know what our club expects, and what you get for your club membership.
The Deutschlanders winter camp out is right around the corner. It will be here before we know it so start dusting off those vintage camping accessories. Who will be "The vintage KING of the camp out" ? Who will have the most vintage camp space and go home with the trophy? Sean won last year with his 1967 bus and tent and from what I hear he has been gathering vintage things all year. Perhaps you will pull out some "SVA" Secret Vintage Accessories and beat Sean and the rest of us. Only time will tell!!!!
We are going to book the large campsite this year. The site holds 25 cars so their should be enough room for all but sites filling up fast. SO PLEASE PRE-REG. Only $10.00 to camp with us and a possible $5 entry fee to the park. Bring your own camp stuff and food / drink. This is a family oriented camp out so no rowdy people PLEASE!!

The Poverello house is on top of the world with the success of our car show. I am happy to say that our contributions to the Poverello house this year topped all previous years. Thanks to all your hard work our club raised 1,065 lbs. of food this year.
On sat the 12th of Oct we held our annual FEED THE BUG food drive. It was a great morning to be out helping our community. The sun was out and the temp was perfect. I was glad to see our club members jumping into the cause and helping out. We had more than enough help on sat, Kate, Mary, Dave, Lincoln, Grover, Ed, Ian, Jennifer, Shannon, Chatty Kathy, Wade, Dee, wizard and myself all jumped in at different times during the day. Unfortunately the convertible was not available until Sunday but Zoe was ready to jump in. At first the donations were slow but as the day went on Zoe started to fill up. Canned and dry food started to overflow from her trunk. Yes a great sight to see!!!!
Sat evening came around and the grass area started to take shape. Sean, Grover, Jennifer, Tower Dave, Wade, Ladyref and Marcus all were helping mark vendor spaces and set up tables and easy ups.
I am so glad to see Marcus and his family back in town and jump right back into the club!!! He has a great family ready to help whenever they could. As the night went on VWs from all over started to show up. A really nice 71 Westy from Nevada made the trip a day early and joined us camping that night.
Once more yours truly slept on the ground waiting for the 5 AM bell. If you could call that sleep? 5 AM came around. Thanks to Tower Dave I got up rather quickly ready to get this show on the road. Glad to see Sean and Super Grover were already their and holding 2 1/2 gallons of fresh Starbucks coffee.
Soon the lot was full of classic cars from all over the state. We had 14 Venors selling their goods and so many auto swappers they made a complete circle around the outer rim of the lot. I am glad to see "THE PATCH GUY" made the trip. The PATCH GUY at our show just shows our show is getting to be something special and bigger every year. The raffle was a big hit as well. Thank you for all that helped gathering goods. Js alarm came through again with a great prize,, Super Grover came through with our grand prize "THANK YOU". I must say the Newells really worked hard going from business to business gathering raffle items "THANK YOU". Don was a major factor in putting this show on he really works hard and is responsible for the posters and dash plaque design. This tasks takes months of preparation and a lot of personal time "THANK YOU". Tower Dave and Johnnyson were printing out show fliers and helped with the designing of the window fliers. This was a big job!!! THANK YOU!! The shows registration booth was really busy and is a big job Shannon stayed at her post for 8 hours and was even their an hour before the show started helping to set up. Putting this show on is vary stressful and takes a lot of time. Shannon THANK YOU for putting up with me during the shows prep time. I real appreciate your patients and understanding. I cant say enough about the hard work Kate put into the vendor aspect of our show, If it wasn't for her we would have no vendors at our show. Kate really picked up the ball and ran with it "THANK YOU". Greg Ravy was a big help behind the scenes with our show. He and his kids at school made a really neat "One of a kind" raffle drum and toy display. He also gathered at least 100 lbs of food for donation "THANK YOU"
I am sure I am forgetting others and I am sorry. So many of you in the club made this show possible and a hit. I like the fact our club is family oriented as well as a fun bunch of knuckle heads. I hope all of your VWs run great all year and look forward to hanging with all of our members this year.
Congratulations to "Chatty" Kathy. She won the Deutschlander of the year award. Kathy from day one after last years show was planning and had ideas on how we could improve this years FEED THE BUG. All year she donated her time to the cause. You could find her at almost every VW event through out the year with her Deutschlander shirt on promoting our club and show. She was their when someone needed help, a ride or just a good LONG LONG LONG talk. Chatty Kathy is not afraid to get dirty and is the first one on the list to head a caravan to a show. At the shows you can see her passion for this little car. During the day she is at the swaps looking for parts for both of her VWs. At night you can find her having a spirit or two and joining in on all the fun. She doesn't bow out for a hotel with a lame breakfast I usually find her sleeping in the front of her VW or in her 3 room "BIO" DOME tent.
She is the perfect spokes woman and fits the profile of the VW lifestyle. Once more thank you Kathy for all your hard work.
We are always looking for new ways to improve the club and our FEED THE BUG shows. If you have any ideas or comments please share. negative or positive we want to hear it.
Cash donations for FEED THE BUG 4 will be given out at the next meeting.
Possible date for FEED THE BUG 5 Oct 5th or 19th.
